I&#8217;m passionate about art, media, technology and culture.<\/p>\n<p>It all started with an old, beige Acorn Archimedes, and games like Rick Dangerous, Chuck Rock and James Pond. Later, I had a tiny Mac Color Classic. Things began to look up when I got an N64 one Christmas, and later, built a PC. The two games which had the biggest impact on me were probably <em>Ocarina of Time<\/em> and <em>Deus Ex.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Film is another passion of mine, with its endless possibilities for &#8220;armchair-theorising&#8221;. Some of my favourite films are from directors like David Cronenberg, Kubrick, Scorsese, David Lynch, Hayao Miyazaki, Terry Gilliam, the Coen brothers, Kurasawa, Johnnie To and Wong Kar-wai. There are too many great films to count; listing directors just makes things easier.<\/p>\n<p>I generally like reading science fiction and modernist\/post-modern literature. Some of my favourite authors: J.G. Ballard, Christopher Priest, Ken Macleod, China Mieville, Iain Banks, Alan Moore, Phillip K. Dick, Ursula Le Guin, Margaret Atwood and Michael Moorcock. You can see what I mean about the sci-fi.
